Navajo Sky Jasper is a stunning blue-green sedimentary jasper found in southeastern Utah, near the homelands of the Navajo people. This unique material forms from silica-rich volcanic ash (often bentonite clay) that has settled and lithified into layered chert. The distinct hues—ranging from blue and teal to green—are due to the presence of copper and chlorite precipitates, giving it a vibrant and earthy resemblance to turquoise or chrysocolla.

While some pieces can be used for knapping, Navajo Sky Jasper is prized for lapidary and slab work due to its color and texture.
